Affinity Salons, once a prominent name in India’s beauty and wellness industry, is now embroiled in a series of serious allegations, including financial fraud, non-payment of wages, and unprofessional conduct.

In a significant development, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police arrested Vinay Vishal Sharma in 2022, director of Affinity Beauty Salon Pvt Ltd, for allegedly defrauding a businessman of INR 7.5 crore. Sharma had promised high returns on investments through cumulative, convertible, and redeemable preference shares in his company. Investigations revealed that the collateral offered—a property in Sushant Lok—was already mortgaged, indicating deliberate misrepresentation.

Beyond this high-profile arrest, Affinity Salons faces mounting criticism from vendors and employees. A reputable Zoroastrian-owned facility management firm reported being owed over ₹50,000 for services rendered. “We provided trained staff to multiple Affinity outlets, but payments were consistently delayed. Our employees went unpaid for months,” stated a representative from the firm.

Employees across various locations have reported abrupt terminations without notice or compensation. Many allege that they haven’t received salaries for extended periods, leading to financial hardships.

Adding to the controversy, videos have surfaced online showing a man identified as Vivek Singh, associated with Affinity Salons, engaging in unprofessional behavior. In one image, Singh is seen smoking what appears to be marijuana during a confrontation with recovery agents seeking unpaid dues. The footage also captures him providing inconsistent statements and attempting to evade questions about pending payments.

Customers have also voiced their dissatisfaction. On Reddit, users have shared experiences of poor service quality, citing issues like untrained staff, unsanitary conditions, and mismanagement. One user commented, “The service quality has deteriorated drastically. It’s not the Affinity I once trusted.”
